There are 3 most commonly used formats that eZine publishers use today. You can decide which one tickles your fancy, but of course, just like everything else, it has its pros and cons.

The most commonly published – and probably the easiest format, is the text eZine. The good thing about it is, just like what it’s called, it’s purely just text. You don’t need special skills to be able to use this format. All you need to use is a Word or Notepad type of program.

The second type of eZine is the HTML eZine. This is a little bit more complicated than the first I mentioned. What’s great about it is that you can customize your page, you can choose any design that you deem proper for your site. You can add more sophisticated features to your eZine making it more fun and appealing to your readers. The design is sure to attract more readers to your site. This is a perk that you won’t get from text eZine.

You can decorate your format by spicing up the site with pictures, different colored fonts and a whole lot more. The slight drawback here is, they often land in spam filters before they’re actually sent to your subscribers’ inboxes.

The third – and least used among the three is the PDF eZine. Publishing an eZine in this format takes a lot of time and effort from the eZine owner. The good thing about it is that even if it takes quite a while to create, its quality makes up for it.

Because it takes more time to create, PDF eZines are usually released on a monthly basis instead of a weekly one. The slight drawback here is that you don’t get to publish as much as the others (who make text and html eZines) do. The good part though is that you can put your affiliate links on your PDF eZine and allow your subscribers to pass the issue around. This means more prospects.

With three choices, you may opt to go with just one format or a mixture of all three. It’s all up to you.
